Policies

Services // I will personally provide all the agreed upon services. I do not outsource to other artists, unless explicitly discussed with the client. Printing is done by a trusted third party printer, if applicable.

Artistic Style // You can be assured that I will create your project to the same quality as the examples you see on my website or social media.

Handwritten & Handmade Work // Please keep in mind that, unlike computer-generated text or images, the beauty of handwritten calligraphy and watercolor is the variation in letter form, layout, colors, and more. My hand cannot make each letter or painted work exactly the same every single time. These variations result in every piece of writing being a unique work of art.

Licensing // As the artist, I remain the sole owner of all artistic rights. I do not grant legal right to reproduce, copy, alter, or manufacture my work without a specific and separate licensing agreement.

Photography // You are more than welcome (and encouraged!) to share images of my work on your social media. Please ensure that you clearly credit me on any and all posts; if sharing on Instagram, please tag @letters.in.love. I also appreciate it when clients share professional photography taken that include my work. If I am working with client information (e.g., addresses), I will take care not to post photos that contain full addresses or contact information (i.e. envelope photos will always be digitally altered, partially covered or cropped to protect privacy). The privacy of my client will be maintained in any images I take or post.

Production Payment Schedule // Before production begins, a non-refundable deposit is required. For projects under $250, the full amount will be taken as deposit. For projects over $250, 50% will be taken as a deposit, with the remaining balance due either: 1) before ordering of final materials, or 2) before delivery of final product, whatever is specified in our quote. The final product will not be provided until payment in full is received regardless of agreed-upon project completion date.

Quantity Changes // (Envelopes, place cards, escort cards, etc.) If the quantity of guests/product decreases after payment of the non-refundable deposit, the agreed-upon rate is not adjusted. *If the quantity of guests/product increases after payment, those additions will be added to the final total due before client delivery.

Rush Orders // If I deem the project a “rush order,” a rush fee of 20% or $100 (greater of the two) will apply. I notify all clients in advance if this will apply.

Text Submission // The provided text will be written exactly as submitted. If I notice any concerns after receiving the text, I will contact you. Please ensure that you have thoroughly reviewed and edited all text before submission. For text of a single project such as wedding vows or poems, no changes may be made after work has begun. Please note that if your text is not submitted by the requested date, it is likely to delay your order completion date.

Address Formatting // Your address list may be provided as Word document or Excel spreadsheet, with Excel strongly preferred. Please make sure to provide the names exactly as you wish them to be written (including titles such as Mr., Ms., Doctor). If your list requires significant formatting by me, I may charge a $75 fee.

Additional Blank Materials // (Envelopes, place cards, escort cards, etc.) Please understand that error is inevitable in hand-produced work, and occasional changes are requested by the client. For projects such as envelopes and place cards, if the client is providing the materials, please provide a minimum of 15% additional blank product with a minimum of 10 count per 150. The more extras I have, the faster I can work and the sooner you will get your order.

Corrections // (Envelopes) All envelopes are proofed multiple times before providing to the client, but the occasional error still may occur. Please review the final order upon receipt to be sure there are no corrections needed. If any corrections are needed, please email a complete list within 48 hours of delivery. If the error was on my end, I will promptly correct at no charge. If the error originates from the information provided to me, I will create a correction for my normal fee (per envelope). Corrections will be completed within 3 business days following notice from the client, unless there are extensive corrections to be made that originated from the information provided to me, in which case a timeline will be discussed.

Mailing // (Envelopes) Client is responsible for final mailing of envelopes and must furnish your own postage. Formal envelopes can sometimes cost more to mail, so please confirm with USPS prior to sending to ensure you’ve applied adequate postage. I highly recommend requesting that your envelopes be “hand canceled” – contact your Post Office in advance for instructions. I am not responsible for any envelopes damaged by USPS. I can mail the envelopes for you, for an envelope assembly and delivery fee (not including postage); all must be paid in advance.

Non-Delivered Mail // (Envelopes) With any handwritten address, sometimes the automated postal scanners have trouble reading the envelope. Any address that cannot be read by machine is routinely hand-inspected and mailed by the postal employees. If any envelope were undeliverable specifically due to my work, I will recreate them at no charge, with a maximum of 3 corrected envelopes (non-delivery is very rare).

Cancelation // Due to the custom nature of each project, this booking may not be canceled/refunded.
